Pat Beason is a Houston, Texas-based author with a deep love for science fiction and horror. Raised in the oil and gas business, Pat’s father served in upper management at Sinclair Oil Company. Pat grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and developed a love for go-karts and auto racing and later pursued an interest in structural design and the drafting of welded structures.

After serving in the military during the Vietnam War, Pat studied structural engineering and began his career designing telescoping oil rig derricks in Tulsa. His path soon led him to insurance company management and eventually to Dallas, Texas, where he was recruited to lead a team drilling horizontal wells in South Texas. Later, Pat founded his own successful oil and gas exploration and production company.

Pat is a devoted husband, proud father of two daughters, and grandfather to seven. He shares his home and much of his heart with two loyal German Shepherds who even make appearances in his writing. Their fierce loyalty and protective nature deeply resonate with Pat, reflecting his values and life experiences.

A lifelong fan of science fiction and horror, Pat brings both genres together in West Texas Shadow Walkers: The Cryptid Invasion. His fascination with mythical creatures and cryptid lore and his real-world knowledge of the oil fields create a thrilling and authentic blend of suspense, action, and supernatural terror that readers won’t soon forget.
